“At the Center, we believe healing is possible, hope is real, and your story is still being written.” ~ Morenike
Morenike Murphy, LPC-MHSP, is a driving force for change in the mental health field. With over 25 years of experience in social services, she has spent her career advocating for individuals, families, and communities facing behavioral health challenges. As a former State Mental Health Crisis Director, Morenike witnessed firsthand the gaps in Tennessee’s mental health system – long wait times, limited access to care, and overwhelmed providers struggling to meet the growing need.
These experiences led to the founding of the Center of Hope for Behavioral Health: a place created to remove barriers to care, empower clinicians, and restore dignity to the healing process. Morenike envisioned a center where clients receive compassionate, high-quality care and where therapists are supported, valued, and given room to grow — because sustainable healing starts with healthy providers.
Morenike is a Licensed Professional Counselor holding dual master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Criminal Justice. Her expertise includes crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and the specialized assessment and treatment of serious mental illness. Through her leadership, the Center has become a beacon for innovative care — combining evidence-based practices with a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.
Her extensive experience within Tennessee’s mental health system, both professionally and personally, laid the foundation for her life’s work: building a future where behavioral health care is accessible, compassionate, and effective.
Today, Morenike continues to lead with vision and purpose. She is available for speaking engagements, therapy, Critical Incident and Stress Management (CISM), coaching, and consultation on personal development and professional goals
