Clinical Therapist
Johnshae Verge, M.S. is a compassionate Mental Health Clinician at the Center of Hope for Behavioral Health who is deeply committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. She works with children (ages 8 and older), adolescents, young adults, and adults, supporting individuals navigating challenges such as trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and life stressors.
Johnshae holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University with a specialization in Play Therapy and Expressive Arts. She is trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Child–Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), and brings many years of experience working in childcare prior to entering the clinical field. This background allows her to approach therapy with warmth, creativity, and a strong understanding of developmental needs.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with expressive and play-based interventions. Johnshae believes in each person’s inherent worth and goodness, and she emphasizes unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authentic connection as essential foundations for healing.
Guided by faith and grounded in compassion, Johnshae views therapy as a collaborative relationship built on trust, acceptance, and empowerment. She is passionate about fostering connection and community, and believes no one should have to carry their story alone.
Outside of the therapy room, Johnshae enjoys traveling, spending meaningful time with family and friends, and prioritizing self-care. She brings this belief in balance and wholeness into her work with clients.
