“You don’t have to have it all together. You need a safe space to process and find hope.” — CharisseClinical Intern
Charisse Stewart is a dedicated Clinical Therapist (Intern) at the Center of Hope for Behavioral Health, bringing over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families through advocacy and community-based work. She is passionate about walking alongside clients during crisis, major life transitions, and difficult seasons—especially following traumatic experiences—helping them rebuild stability, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with hope.
Charisse holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, an MBA, and an M.Ed. Graduate Certificate in Trauma-Informed Practices, and is currently completing her training in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Her diverse educational and professional background allows her to approach therapy with both compassion and practicality, honoring each client’s lived experience while supporting meaningful, sustainable change.
Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, grounded in the belief that clients are the authors of their own stories. Charisse integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies to help clients better understand thought patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop effective coping skills. She also incorporates solution-focused techniques, emphasizing strengths, clarity, and achievable next steps—especially when clients feel overwhelmed or stuck.
Charisse enjoys working with children (ages 8 and older), adolescents, young adults, and adults, while supporting concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related stress, grief and loss, burnout, self-esteem challenges, relationship and family conflict, and life transitions. She most values creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.
Outside of the therapy space, Charisse enjoys spending time with her family and serving in the community. She is deeply committed to strengthening families and helping create pathways to support, stability, and well-being.
